The UWS Parramatta Campus Concept Master Plan at Rydalmere was developed to address a set of emerging issues and opportunities pertaining to the site including the possibility of a new train station on the campus, the development of a technology and lifestyle precinct in the industrial lands to the west of the campus, as well as the emergence of an understanding of the relationship between Westmead, Parramatta and Rydalmere to the greater CBD.

The Concept Master Plan demonstrates how major activity zones with a mix of uses should be encouraged around existing and potential train stations to provide strong connectivity between these nodes and to greater Sydney. A new railway station at Rydalmere, located on the UWS Parramatta Campus connecting Parramatta to Epping, will enhance access for students and residents to the CityRail network whilst providing an opportunity for a vibrant new mixed use town centre.
