Client | City of Sydney
High street facade study is a comprehensive urban design investigation of each high street precinct that provide a solid basis for controls for future development that respects and builds on the fine urban grain.
The high street precincts are diverse and complex places at the heart of each of the villages of the City of Sydney. They are located in heritage conservation areas, comprise mixed-use business zones and are identified as active edges in the City’s DCP. They are places of considerable economic importance, and character, with an often distinctive urban form.
This study used: cadastral; 3D modeling and; orthographically corrected photography to create accurate and continuous street elevations. This project is the first step in an ongoing process of analysis and development control, that will allow for development and renewal of the Sydney’s villages while protecting the complex and varied characteristics that make these places unique.
