The Sacred Heart Cathedral Masterplan covered a city block at the western gateway of the Newcastle city centre. The Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle occupies approximately two thirds of this block, which includes the heritage listed Sacred Heart Cathedral, and the administration buildings for the Diocese and Catholic Schools Office.
The team acted on behalf of the Diocese to develop concept Master Plan options which proposed changes to the floor space ratio and maximum building height.
